How would you do this?
I’m trying to make a text messaging mechanism for a ti-84 calculator. I’ve got a program that will text between two calculators with the link plugged into both. (the link consists of a white-insulation wire, a red-insulation wire and a bare wire) how would YOU make the link wireless?
I’ve tried cutting the link, stripping the ends of the wires, attatching them to a remote-controlled car and its controller, plugging them in, and messaging, but there isn’t even a current. Maybe a walkie-talkie? maybe infared? maybe a tv-remote?
What are you trying to cheat on a test? I like that you are trying to think of ways to accomplish this task but to be honest you should spend the time studying instead.
You have a software program that will send out through a wired port. This means you have to change the software so you can work with a wireless standard so it can send wirelessly rather then through your serial port.
I recommend bluetooth technology, with one of the devices as the master and the other devices the slaves. IR is most effective point-to-point so you will more then likely have to face the calculator you need to communicate with.
There are even some serial comm. wireless transmitters but it probably wont fit inside your calculator. I pasted a link below.
In general, you can’t just piece things together and expect them to work. You’d probably have to study several manuals to get a grasp of the whole problem you have presented to include topics of serial comm., wireless standards and RF. It definately can’t be explained in a few paragraphs. Good luck and study smart.
