Power Lamp Light

My 42inch Sony Rear-Projection TV stopped working and the Power Light flashes red twice.?

the “lamp” light doesn’t flash, just power light
nothing in manuel
When turned on, the fan spins, then it clicks, then it turns off (screen always stays black, then power light flashes red twice on 5 second intervals.

According to the Sony service manual, 2 flashes means that you’ve got a short circuit in the power supply section controlling the +B OCP detection. You can search the “KP” Model of your set and download the PDF version of your set’s service manual.

Time to get the service guy over for a visit.
