… were convicted of war crimes and the U.S. Government decided that it was considered torture, so why are we even having a debate about it now? By the legal standards of the U.S. law it is torture – why is this being ignored? I have no love of terrorists but aren’t we supposed to be taking the “high road” here? The information we got as a result of this was faulty and led to the invasion of Iraq, which got thousands of U.S. troops killed based on a lie, so why does anyone still support it? Some of the people tortured might be innocent – is it OK to torture them? Btw – I’m a moderate, not a liberal.
